Summertime Bliss

Posted in Uncategorized on July 16th, 2010 by Ashley Holladay — Be the first to comment!

I’ve been contemplating lately…about these bright sunny days, great friends and family, and the joy it brings when they come together. We had a wonderful time with family and a few friends this last week over the family reunion, which included a celebration of our independence with a fireworks show, blow-up water slides for the kids, and lots of great food! While I mention the great things about summer, I might add some good news for those of you not aware. The intersection of Greenhurst and Happy Valley is done! So you know what that means: THE ROUNDABOUT IS OPEN! Wahoo! So for all of you that have been dying to come see us at the store, it is now easier to get there. On the same note, there has been talk about a party at the store to celebrate what could be considered another grand opening. I’ll be sure and keep you posted for further details as they come. We always have something new to share, so check back often for new ideas and home decor items for your home.  Have a great weekend!

The Art Of Vinyl

I think you could agree that we’ve been on a “star kick” lately. It’s true. We have had so much fun painting new stars for many different occasions, and just want to show them off! But we’re introducing something else that has been mentioned a few times in previous posts. A familiar staple in home décor these days has been vinyl…in many different forms. You can find it on virtually anything from metal wall plaques to wood blocks, or even adhered to blank walls. Maybe you have a favorite quote, or a design you would like to have printed onto vinyl. The possibilities are nearly endless! Vinyl wall lettering and images can be removed without taking the paint off your walls, and you can change the look as often as you like. It’s certainly an inexpensive way to update your décor, and will last for years! You can place a special order, or come by and see the selection we have in store. Also, some great news! The roundabout at the intersection of Greenhurst and Happy Valley Rd. in Nampa is now OPEN! So we are now just a hop, skip, and a jump away, instead of driving the back roads to get to our Nampa store. We have been thrilled about this, so come on by. We would love to see you!

Miraculous Mirrors

Posted in Mirrors, Wall Decor on July 2nd, 2010 by Ashley Holladay — 2 Comments

Hey Everyone! We’re back on board this week, and have some exciting stuff to share! Have you ever wondered what purpose mirrors serve as a home décor piece? Sure, we see them on a daily basis, since we virtually cannot walk into the bathroom every day without seeing even a glimpse of ourselves. But have you ever thought they could serve the same advantage as a framed picture on the wall? Well, I’m here to shed some light on the very topic of mirrors, and why they are so fabulous. Not only do they serve as a looking glass of our own reflection, they essentially double the space they occupy. If you have a small room in your home, and you’re looking to maximize the space, a mirror can be placed on the wall to add radiance, create an interesting focal point, and provide an everlasting way to beautify your home. That is why we can say they are “miraculous mirrors”. As always, we have a great selection of framed mirrors in a wide variety of sizes and styles. So come pick out one that will add that extra flair to your home.

Are you planning a party for the 4th of July? We have a couple more stars to show off this week. I’m sure they would like to make their next debute at your next gathering, or even make a statement with your patriotic displays for the holiday. But you’ll have to hurry in, since it’s only a week until we celebrate our freedom in this great country we call America.

Stars In The Making

I think I can say I’m back in the swing of things. It has become evident that I don’t always have as much time as I think I do, but somehow, eventually, I manage to get things done. We appreciate the feedback we’ve received on our site, and continue to welcome your comments. It seems we’ve introduced many things that can be personalized, whether for yourself or someone you know. I have to hand it to Judy. She has been so creative! If you liked the CD clocks, then you’re sure to love the stars she’s been working on. When I saw what she came up with, I knew I had to jump on that bandwagon, and get a little creative myself. So needless to say, we’ve been painting together! Below, are a couple stars Judy made and I think they turned out so neat! The hot pink star with the black undertone just gets me excited and makes me want to throw a birthday party!  The blue star just expresses everything patriotic and I think it just comes at the perfect time, with the 4th of July coming right up! So if you want stars displayed at your next party, or even as a centerpiece for any occasion, just send us your special order. Let us know what color(s) you would like your star to be, and what pictures/embellishments you would like it dressed with, and we’ll get it done for you. Or, if it suits you more, we have plain ones you can purchase as is, or create one yourself. The ideas are endless, so let your imagination run wild! Also, stay close by for upcoming “Door Buster” deals. Have a wonderful day!

Love For Dad

Posted in Clocks, Frames, Uncategorized on June 3rd, 2010 by Ashley Holladay — 4 Comments

It wasn’t too long ago, that we paid special tribute to our mothers and grandmothers, and it is now time to be thinking about our fathers and grandfathers just the same. It’s coming up Sunday, June 20th, so we should be thinking about how we’re going to honor the dads in our lives on Father’s Day. They are often the providers of the home, and influential heroes to us. If you liked the Mother’s Day wall plaques, we have similar ones for dad too. Oh, and you can now see photos of the CD clocks that Judy was working on last week. I think they turned out so cool! They can be personalized for any occasion. All you have to do is send over a photo you would like to have printed on your CD clock, and we’ll have it made special for you. We will start featuring “Door Buster” deals on our blog, so you will see all the great deals each week at All Things Imported. This week, we have a Clothes Horse (as we believe it is called), for dad to hang his clothes. Perhaps, he has a nice suit and tie he would like to hang from it. Also, there are some picture frames adorned with “manly” accents that would look great with your photo in it. Last, but not least, we always have vinyl that can be made specific to your needs. If dad has a favorite quote or phrase, have it printed on vinyl, and hang it in his office or his favorite room. We look forward to serving you, and remember, we would love your feedback, so send us a comment, and let us know how we’re doing.

For Your Graduate

It’s that time of year when students are embracing that gratifying moment they have been waiting for. Graduation is upon us, and as parents, grandparents, friends, and loved ones, we know how much hard work and dedication students have put forth to achieve such an accomplishment. We want what is best for them, and should recognize them for achieving that goal. There are many ways we can show our love and support to them upon graduation. Wouldn’t it be nice to present them with something personalized for them to remember their graduation by? Here at All Things Imported, we have a few ideas to help you find something special, whether it be for a son or daughter, brother or sister, or a friend, we can help you congratulate that special person in your life. Judy has been working on some fun clocks, with some graduation photos, and there a lots of baskets that can be used for organizing, as well as some colorful blanket throws they can use when they go off to college.  I can vividly remember the day I graduated, and it was indeed one that I will never forget.

With spring right before our eyes, and summer just around the corner, I thought we would introduce our wide selection of jewelry available in so many styles and colors. The photos above, are just a portion of the selection we have. The best part: All jewelry is 2 for $5.00! Not only can you find things to dress up your home, you can also dress up and accessorize your outfits to match anything you have. So if home décor is not up your alley right now, and jewelry is one of your favorite things, come see what you can find. I found a great pair of earrings to wear with my lady bug costume at Halloween, and little girls would love to wear some fancy jewelry at a great price.

Hello Sun!

Have you seen the sun lately? Although, we’ve had a few beautiful days, we still see the lingering presence of clouds and rain, while we wait for much warmer, sunny days ahead.  If you’re anything like me, I crave those sunny days to put an extra spring in my step and put me in better spirits. So, it seems only appropriate on this rather gloomy day that we post some smiling faces of a few metal sun plaques that can adorn the walls of your home, and cheer you right up when the warm, bright rays of the sun just don’t make an appearance outside. What better way to enjoy the sun inside your home?

So let us share a little about ourselves. All Things Imported started as an idea- a vision of what home décor should be. It became essential that we offer a combination of items in many different styles, and colors to suit each individual that walks through our door. Variety and selection are so important when choosing the right look for your home.  Just as traditions are unique from one country to the next, each person has their own individual style. I think that is pretty awesome! Our goal is to provide a welcoming environment to anyone looking for inspiring ideas in the world of home décor at a budget-friendly price.

With two locations to serve you, we’re confident that you’ll find just what you’re looking for to spruce up a bare corner in your home, a blank wall, or even find a special gift for a friend or loved one. This blog will support our efforts to show you the latest and greatest in home décor trends the industry has to offer. We’ll share our ideas, upcoming events, door buster deals, and so much more.  All Things Imported is a place where we can gather with our local community of friends, neighbors, and many familiar faces alike. It’s a place where we’ll share ideas, explore possibilities, connect with others, and uncover our creative side. We are thrilled to see where this new venture takes us, and especially for the relationships we can build with our followers.

Let’s dive in!

Have you thought about that one special person in your life? The one who started caring for you the day you were born? MOMS the word, and Mother’s Day is right around the corner. Below, you’ll find some wire baskets to hold sweet goodies or a floral arrangement.  I think these would make a great centerpiece at a table set for a Mother’s Day brunch, don’t you?
